Mourinho fined £50,000 and banned from touchline at Swansea

first_imgJOSE Mourinho has been slapped with a one-match touchline ban and £50,000 fine after accepting two FA misconduct charges. The Manchester United manager was first charged for comments he made about referee Anthony Taylor in the lead up to United’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool. He had until Monday evening to respond but the deadline passed at 6pm without protests from the Red Devils chief as he accepted the charge. He was then hit with a second FA charge of improper conduct when he confronted referee Mark Clattenburg at half-time on Saturday.Mourinho was frustrated at Clattenburg’s decision not to award United a penalty and approached the official in the tunnel during the goalless draw with Burnley. The Special One watched the second half of the match from the comfort of the director’s box in Manchester. His immediate one-match touchline ban for his verbal volley at Clattenburg means he will not be on the bench for this weekend’s trip to Swansea.Mourinho will still be able to address the players before the game and at half-time, with messages passed down to the dugout during the match.last_img read more
